We collect the following information when you use Mind Nest:
Account information: Your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash — we never store your plain-text password).
Content you create: Mind maps, nodes, notes, knowledge paths, study sessions, and any other content you create within the app.
Usage data: App events and analytics to understand how features are used (e.g. maps created, sessions completed). This data is anonymous and aggregated.
Device information: Device type and OS version, collected only to improve app compatibility.
Log data: Server logs including IP address and request timestamps, retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes.

To create and manage your account.
To store and sync your mind maps and content across your devices.
To send transactional emails (email verification, password reset). We do not send marketing emails.
To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
To improve the app based on aggregated, anonymous usage patterns.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers located in the EU/US. We implement industry-standard security measures including:
Passwords hashed using bcrypt.
All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption.
Authentication tokens that expire and rotate automatically.
Access controls to limit who can access your data.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share data only in the following limited cases:
With your consent: When you explicitly share a mind map with another user via a share link.
Service providers: We use trusted infrastructure providers (hosting, email delivery) that process data only on our behalf and under strict confidentiality agreements.

6. Data Retention
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
When you delete your account, your personal data and all content is permanently deleted within 90 days.
Server logs are automatically deleted after 30 days.
Soft-deleted mind maps are permanently purged after 90 days.
7. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
Correction: Update your name or email address at any time in the app settings.
Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data directly from the app under Settings → Delete Account.
Portability: Export all your mind maps and content from the app at any time.
Objection: Object to certain processing of your data by contacting us.
8. Children's Privacy
Mind Nest is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at admin@aboelnasr.net and we will delete it immediately.
9. Third-Party Services
Mind Nest does not integrate with any third-party advertising networks or analytics platforms that track you across other apps or websites. Authentication via Google or Apple Sign-In is available; if used, those providers' privacy policies also apply.
10. Cookies and Tracking
The Mind Nest mobile app does not use cookies. Our website may use essential cookies only for security purposes (e.g. session protection). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
